AI Usage
Last updated: October 2026
At Modern Shift Studio, I believe in using the tools available to do better work, more efficiently. And yes, that includes artificial intelligence (AI).
I use AI to help brainstorm ideas, create content, analyze information, and streamline parts of my process. This gives me more time to focus on what matters most: understanding your business, making thoughtful decisions, and creating work that helps you reach your goals.
AI supports my work, but it doesn't replace my expertise.
Here's how I use it.
How I Use AI
I use three categories to describe AI involvement in my work:
AI Free: Created by humans without the use of generative AI.
AI Assisted: Created with the help of AI tools, with meaningful human involvement in the creation, editing, and final decisions.
AI Generated: Created primarily using AI, with less direct human involvement in the finished work.
Most of my AI usage falls into the AI Assisted category.
My Default AI Involvement
Client Work — AI Assisted
I use AI to brainstorm content ideas, assist with drafting, and analyze data to identify patterns and opportunities.
Every client deliverable goes through substantial human editing, fact-checking, and refinement to reflect the client's voice, expertise, audience, and business goals.
All strategies and final recommendations are human-led, and I personally review and approve every deliverable before delivery.
Clients are responsible for reviewing and approving their content, including verifying factual, technical, and medical accuracy, before publication.
Website & Written Content — AI Assisted
My website copy, blog posts, email newsletters, and social media content may be created with AI assistance for brainstorming, drafting, and editing.
The perspectives, experiences, and final creative decisions remain my own.
Photography & Imagery — AI Assisted
I use a combination of traditional photography, AI-assisted editing, and AI-generated imagery, including realistic brand photographs.
I never use AI-generated imagery to fabricate client results or misrepresent real clients, experiences, or outcomes.
Graphics & Design — AI Free
My graphic design work is human-created. I do not use generative AI to create graphic designs.
These are my usual practices. When AI plays a significantly different role in a particular piece of work, I may provide an additional disclosure where relevant.
My Standards for AI Use
Regardless of the tools involved, I take responsibility for the quality of my work.
That means:
I never fabricate testimonials, case studies, client results, statistics, or research sources.
I verify factual claims and research rather than relying on AI-generated information alone.
I never deliver AI-written client content without substantial human editing and approval.
I never rely on AI to make final strategic decisions.
I never use AI-generated imagery to misrepresent real people or outcomes.
I require clients to review and approve content for subject-matter accuracy before publication, particularly when it involves health or medical information.
Human expertise, judgment, and accountability remain at the center of my process.
How I Protect Client Information
I may use AI tools to assist with client questionnaires, meeting notes, website content, analytics, and brand materials.
Before sharing client information with third-party AI tools, I remove identifying details unless a client has specifically requested otherwise or provided their own AI tools or custom-trained systems for use in the project.
I use AI tools with model-training settings disabled and take reasonable precautions to protect confidential and sensitive information.
I do not intentionally use client information to train third-party AI models or upload sensitive client information without appropriate safeguards.
Questions About My AI Use?
I believe transparency builds trust. I'm not interested in pretending AI isn't part of my process, or using it to replace the expertise behind my work.
If you have any questions about how AI is used in your project, you're always welcome to ask!
